Our Happy Hedgehogs room caters for children aged 15 months upwards. This room is designed for children who are getting ready to explore the areas around them and the environment is set up to encourage children’s independence. The room is spacious and laid out over two rooms with separate nappy change facilities and milk kitchen which are used by both rooms.
Both rooms offer a wide variety of activities for the children with a range of messy and creative activities such as sticking, painting and a well equipped sand and water area.
Room 2 has an extensive construction and creative area with a large wall chalk board. There are also a range of art easels in the well equipped art area. This room also enjoys a role play area, book/quiet area and our bespoke play gym with ramp, steps and a slide.
These rooms are monitored via CCTV.
Our Dashing Deers room currently allows children from the age of two to thrive and develop whilst being encouraged to engage in play that appeals to them, with the staff supporting each individual child’s learning and development.
The areas in the room aim to create a calm, relaxing yet more structured environment to help the children thrive as they play. The children begin to socialise and interact more with their peers through group activities, story time and investigative play.
The staff begin to enhance the children’s play with special experiences that offer carefully managed risks and challenges.
This room has access to our over two’s outdoor play area where carefully managed, more physical activities can take place. They have access to cars, bikes and our larger play frame as well as the story, music and stage areas within the garden.
Our garden is made of different textured surfaces from astro-turf, rubber crumb, bark, soil, tarmac and wet pour rubber. As such children can and often do get messy when exploring the wonders of the garden.
